Have your new arts teachers join a community of learners and engage in an exciting new mentoring program. Through a contract with Arts|Learning, DESE will connect arts (music, theatre, dance, visual arts, media arts) teachers who started teaching from 2019 to 2022 with 10 experienced arts-education mentors. Mentor-mentee learning communities will meet in a combination of virtual and in-person sessions from January to June 2023. Mentees will collaborate in full-group, regional, and small group cohorts and consult with a mentor between sessions. Cohorts will be grouped by arts discipline and region. PLEASE NOTE: Specific dates and times are expected to be posted via the "learn more" link by midnight 1/4/23 so please be sure to check back for that information tomorrow!
This is a DESE-approved free mentoring and induction program that can partially fulfill new teacher mentoring and induction program activities as found in DESE’s 2015 Guidelines for Induction and Mentoring Programs (download).
