Both Berkshire Film & Media Collaborative and Berkshire Pulse have been working with BCAN over the summer to align existing CYD programming to the state arts standards and the Berkshire Portrait of a Graduate competencies. With regional schools placing a greater focus on Portrait of a Graduate and the new (2019) state arts standards, this mapping will become critical for culturals as they seek in-school partnerships across districts. Both organizations have found that their work naturally fits into these academic frameworks and by moving through the process, are clearly demonstrating to
schools the value of their programming using the language that resonates with school and district leaders.
Both BFMC and Pulse will share the outcomes of their work with Berkshire teachers, MCC, and DESE at Berkshire County PD Day on November 7th.
